What Earth Observations can do for you

Since the first satellites were launched a number of applications of earth observations have been made available that can benefit society. Think for instance of disaster response, weather forecasts, environmental monitoring, insight into climate change, higher agricultural production and food security, more efficient and sustainable fishery, warning systems for health hazards, etc.

Still, earth observations are not yet used to their full potential.

The task of the GEO Network for Capacity Building (GEONetCab) project is to identify and bridge gaps between users and providers and to promote the use of earth observations by capitalizing on succes stories and facilitating capacity building.
